Writing Coaching

You’ve had a book in you for a while now. Maybe years. You’ve started it more than once. Life keeps getting in the way, or the doubt does. I’ve been there, and I can help you finish.

Who I work with

I coach writers working on inspirational nonfiction: devotionals, memoirs, Bible studies, and books that grow out of a hard season or a lesson God taught you. Most of my clients are first-time authors with full lives and no idea where to start. Some have a rough draft sitting in a drawer. A few are on their second or third book and want a steady hand to get it done faster.

How it works

We start with a conversation about your book, where you’re stuck, and what finished looks like. From there we build a plan you can actually keep. I don’t hand you a course and disappear. We meet regularly, you write between sessions, and I read what you send and tell you the truth about it, with kindness.

  • Clarity. We nail down what the book is about, who it’s for, and why you’re the one to write it.
  • Structure. A chapter-by-chapter outline so you always know what to write next.
  • Momentum. Realistic writing goals, regular check-ins, and someone expecting pages from you.
  • Feedback. Honest notes on your drafts from someone who has written and edited for a living for more than 30 years.
  • What comes next. Guidance on publishing options, covers, launches, and building an author platform, when you’re ready for it.

Why me

I spent three decades writing for Fortune 500 companies before I wrote my first book. I know how to get words on the page when there’s no inspiration and no time. I’ve published three books of my own, one of them a Best Book Awards finalist, and I’ve walked other writers from blank page to published. I’m also a graduate of the Jerry Jenkins Christian Writers Guild apprentice program, so I understand the faith-based market from the inside.

Let’s talk about your book

Send me a note with a few lines about your book and where you are with it. I’ll get back to you and we’ll set up a time to talk. No pressure, no pitch.
